WALLOWS

BENEE

The atmosphere outside The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory was electric as fans of all ages gathered in anticipation of an unforgettable night of indie rock. Wallows, celebrated for their catchy melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, had made their way to Irving, Texas, as part of their latest tour. Heightening the excitement was the opening act, Benee, a New Zealand pop sensation known for her distinctive blend of indie pop and whimsical lyrics, which has earned her a devoted fanbase.

As the lights dimmed and the first notes of Benee’s set reverberated through the venue, the crowd erupted in cheers. It was clear that this was not just any opening act. Benee took the stage with confidence and made it obvious that she was meant to perform. Kicking off her set with songs like ‘Kool’ and ‘Glitter,’ she instantly connected with the audience, who swayed and sang along to every word. Her setlist was a mix of fan favorites and newer tracks, each delivered with the kind of energy that turned casual listeners into instant fans. ‘Supalonely,’ her viral hit, was the undeniable highlight of her performance. The crowd’s response was electric, with many jumping to their feet and dancing along. Benee’s stage presence was captivating, her quirky dance moves and genuine smile creating an intimate atmosphere despite the venue’s large size. Benee left the audience buzzing with energy and excited for Wallows.

After a brief intermission, the stage was set for Wallows. As soon as the trio Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston walked on stage, the roar from the crowd was deafening. They opened with ‘Do Not Wait,’ a powerful choice that set the mood for what was to come. This track, with its reflective lyrics and gradual build, immediately showcased the band’s emotional depth and tight musicianship. Following ‘Do Not Wait,’ the band seamlessly transitioned into upbeat songs like ‘Scrawny,’ a high-energy track that had the entire venue jumping and singing along. The contrast between ‘Do Not Wait’ and the more upbeat ‘Scrawny’ highlighted the band’s versatility. Dylan Minnette’s vocals were sharp and clear, and Braeden Lemasters’ guitar work added an infectious energy that had the crowd fully engaged. Next came ‘I Don’t Want to Talk,’ a fan favorite that brought the crowd together in a chorus of voices. The song’s catchy melody and relatable lyrics made it an instant sing-along moment. The chemistry between the band members was evident as they played off each other’s energy, creating a performance that felt both intimate and spontaneous.

After a brief pause, the band returned to the stage for an encore, much to the delight of the audience. The first song of the encore was the much-anticipated ‘Are You Bored Yet?,’ a track that has become synonymous with Wallows’ rise to fame. The audience’s response was electric, with nearly everyone in the venue singing along to the chorus. The live rendition of this song felt like a shared experience, a moment where band and fans connected on a deeper level. To close out the night, Wallows performed ‘Only Ecstasy,’ a song that perfectly encapsulated the energy of the evening. With its driving rhythm and soaring vocals, the track brought the concert to a thrilling end. The band’s performance left the audience on a high note that lingered long after the final chord had faded. The Wallows concert, was an incredible live performance. From Benee’s vibrant opening set to Wallows’ dynamic headlining performance, the Wallows Model Tour was a night to remember.
